Plastering Services across Poole

From a quick skim before you redecorate to a full re-plaster, we handle the whole job, including the preparation and the clean-up. Not sure which you need? Read our skimming vs re-plastering guide. We also cover Bournemouth and the rest of Dorset.

Skimming

A fresh finishing coat over sound walls and ceilings that covers old paint, filler marks and small cracks. Ideal before you redecorate, sell or let a property.

Re-plastering

Where plaster is hollow, crumbling or has been patched too often to skim, we take it back and re-plaster so the finish is sound and lasts.

Cracked or uneven ceilings re-skimmed, and failing ceilings boarded and skimmed. Coving fitted if you want a neat line along the top of the walls.

Cracks, holes and damaged patches repaired and feathered into the existing wall, including making good after electricians, plumbers and kitchen fitters.

Plasterboard fixed to brick or stud walls for straight, even walls and ceilings in extensions, loft conversions and older rooms, ready for skimming.

Traditional sand and cement render for house fronts, extensions and garden walls across Poole, finished to protect the brickwork from the weather.

Homes across Poole from Parkstone to Sandbanks

Poole has a wide mix of homes: Victorian and Edwardian houses in Parkstone and Branksome, estates from the 1960s to the 1980s in Canford Heath, Creekmoor and Oakdale, family homes in Broadstone and Upton, and newer and remodelled houses around Lilliput and Sandbanks.

In older houses the work is often blown plaster, tired lath and plaster ceilings and walls that have been patched for decades. In estate homes it’s usually walls and ceilings with years of filler and cracks that need a fresh skim. Newer homes tend to need extensions, loft rooms and open-plan remodels boarded and finished.

With the harbour and the coast on the doorstep, outside walls get plenty of weather too, so we also repair render and apply traditional sand and cement render.

Plasterers in Poole FAQs

Which parts of Poole do you cover?

All of it, including Parkstone, Branksome, Canford Heath, Broadstone, Upton, Creekmoor, Oakdale, Hamworthy, Lilliput and Sandbanks. We’re based just outside Poole in Organford and also cover Bournemouth, Wimborne and the rest of Dorset.

How much does a plasterer cost in Poole?

It depends on the size of the area, the condition of the existing plaster and whether it needs a skim, repairs or a full re-plaster. We come and look at the job and give you a free, no-obligation quote that sets out the work and the price, so there are no surprises.

Can you repair damaged plaster without redoing the whole wall?

Yes. We repair just the damaged area and feather it into the existing finish so it blends in once painted. If the plaster around it is failing too, we’ll tell you before we quote.

Do you plaster new extensions and loft conversions?

Yes. We work for homeowners and alongside builders, boarding and skimming new walls and ceilings in extensions, loft conversions and new builds so they’re ready to decorate.

Will plastering be messy in a lived-in home?

It doesn’t need to be. We cover floors and furniture, keep the work area organised and clear up properly before we leave each day.

How long does a room take to plaster?

A single room is often skimmed in a day or two. Full re-plastering and larger jobs take longer. New plaster then usually needs a few days to a week to dry before painting, depending on the weather and ventilation.

Do you render houses in Poole as well?

Yes. We apply traditional sand and cement render to house fronts, extensions and garden walls across Poole, and repair render that has cracked or come away.
