A simple curved cove suits most modern rooms and won’t overpower a smaller space. Stepped and more detailed profiles cast a stronger shadow line and suit larger rooms and higher ceilings.
In period homes, a more decorative profile can sit well alongside a ceiling rose or original features. As a rule, the higher the ceiling, the deeper the coving can be without looking heavy.

What type of coving do you fit?
We fit plaster coving, which gives crisp detail and a traditional finish. Tell us the look you want and we’ll talk you through the profiles available.
Can you fit coving to an uneven ceiling?
Yes. Coving helps hide an uneven ceiling edge, and we set it out so the line looks straight around the room. A very wavy ceiling may need a skim first, and we’ll tell you if so.
How long does it take to fit coving?
Coving for an average room is often fitted in a day, depending on the size of the room, the number of corners and the profile. It’s ready to paint once the adhesive and filler have dried.
Should coving go up before or after painting?
Fit the coving first, then paint the walls, ceiling and coving together so the cut-in lines are clean.
Do you fit coving across Dorset?
